![]() How would you describe your DJ personality/style? I would say i try to exude a classy/professional decorum while also being fun. Making sure the guests are having a great time and exceeding the Bride and Groom's expectations is always my goal. What is your favorite DJ memory? Actually, it was a wedding I DJ'd recently. The guests were of all ages and they were giving me tons of requests from all different genres of music. Hip Hop to country, 80's rock to beach/shag, I was able to satisfy all the diverse musical tastes and the dance floor was packed all night long. What is the funniest thing that ever happened at an event? At a wedding, during the Father/Daughter dance, halfway through the song (Freebird, by Skynard) they both broke out into an "air guitar" solo. It was hilarious. What is your proudest moment as a DJ? I was at a wedding and the power went out due to lightning. It was at a private residence and they must have been on the edge of the power grid because after the lights went out, I noticed the neighbor's lights were on. I made a mad dash to Target to get a bunch of candles and 300 ft of extension cord. I negotiated with the neighbor to pull power from their house while the wedding coordinator and the bridal party lit all the candles. Thirty minutes after the power went out we had music again and place looked amazing with all the candles. Everyone had a great time. Including myself!
Why did you become a DJ? I love the atmosphere of weddings and parties. Everyone has a smile on their face and It's something they have probably been looking forward to for a while. I enjoy the party vibe and try to get everyone to let loose on the dance floor.
What is your favorite party song? "It takes two" Rob Base What sets you apart from other DJ's, or what are you specialties? I think I'm able to walk that fine line of being outgoing and getting the guests involved and having a great time without being cheesy or attracting too much attention onto myself. The Bride and Groom will always be the center of attention at any wedding I DJ.
memberships, etc.)? I ran the NYC marathon in under 4 hours. Recenly placed second in a cooking contest. List one or more fun fact(s) about you most people do not know: I am a karaoke freak. Have a wicked backhand. ![]() |

![]() 1. Why do you enjoy performing at wedding receptions? Growing up in a large family instilled in me the importance of family from a young age. To be a part of a wedding reception is a great honor for me. It is the bride and groom's most important day of their lives. Their wedding needs to flow smoothly and be a wonderfully memorable experience. To be an integral part of that positive memory is a thrill every time. 2. Why do you enjoy performing at anniversaries & reunions? Anniversaries and reunions are often a chance to focus more on a given era or style. I recently did a 20 year high school reunion and got to play some great songs that I often don't get to play at weddings. I also just did an 80 year old birthday party and got to get on the floor and dance the Charleston with some of the family as well as watch the guest of honor show his stuff while dancing with his granddaughters to some classic Glen Miller. 3. How do you make sure the hosts are enjoying your performance? I am in constant communication with the hosts to make sure that they are having fun and that their every need is being met. Even if that need does not fall under my area of expertise I will make sure that it is taken care of immediately. 4. What type of personality do you have? I bridge the gap between outgoing and moderate. I would say that I am professional and give the ceremonial moments the reverence they deserve (such as the Bride and Groom's First Dance or the Father/Daughter Dance). However, when it's time to celebrate and party I am as energetic and outgoing as the hosts want me to be. Without energy and excitement from the DJ the crowd can often find it difficult to get going. By encouraging the guests in a positive way to have fun I can make sure that everyone, young and old alike, have a great time. 5. Why do you enjoy working at Complete Music? I have always been focused on providing great customer service no matter what job I held.Complete Music consistently puts the focus on this very thing. At this point in time almost every DJ out there has similar speakers, lights and music. But those things are not what makes a great DJ or what makes an event successful. It's really about the service the DJ provides and that is what Complete Music DJ's know and deliver. 6. What makes you unique as a DJ? My ability to coordinate the specifics of the reception with the other vendors and to make sure that the clients wishes are met makes me stand out. However, I have also worked to develop other skills to assist in making the night fun for everyone. Whether I'm making balloon dogs for the kids during dinner, supplying safety pins or needle and thread to a client in need or simply refilling a bride's drink when she needs it my focus is always on my clients and their guests. 7. Give an example of one of your best moments as a DJ? I will never forget the bride who arrived at her reception almost 2 hours after her ceremony and on the verge of tears. Her photographer was not doing his job and she was ready to lose it completely. I took her aside and told her that her guests were being taken care of and not to worry, I would make sure that she has a wonderful reception. Per her request I kept the photographer from needing to interact with the bride by acting as a wedding coordinator and executing the plan she had laid out in advance. At the end of the night she thanked me for turning around a day that was going in the wrong direction and making it a night to remember. It's just an example of being of service to my client. 8. What is your #1 goal at your dances? At the end of the night I want an exhausted client to say to me, "Thank you so much. You did a great job and we had a wonderful time." Great memories are what being a great DJ is all about. ![]() |

![]() 1. Why do you enjoy performing at wedding receptions? After many years of doing weddings I still enjoy them because each one is different and each one is special. Not to sound cliché, but it’s true. The bride and groom are different, the crowd is different, and everyone has their own preferences as to what they want to dance to. I enjoy being able to excel under varying sets of conditions. That’s the bride and groom’s day and I like making it a special and unforgettable one. 2. Why do you enjoy performing at high school/college dances? At every event, but especially dances, there’s a moment where the crowd “pops” (for lack of a better term). Everyone in the room is dancing at full speed and loving it … that’s the moment I thrive for. 2a. Why do you enjoy performing at anniversaries & reunions? I like seeing the people react to the music they used to listen to … everyone loves a trip down memory lane. 3. How do you make sure the hosts are enjoying your performance? I thrive on feedback so there are several ways: A. I always tell them beforehand that if at any point during the event they want me to do something more or different they are welcome to do so. B. I always check with the hosts and ask if they’re having a good time and if there’s anything I can do to enhance the evening. And C. I ask the guests when I see the opportunity. I get information straight from the people I’m entertaining. 4. What type of personality do you have? Different events call on different elements of my personality. If there’s such a thing as a laid back outgoing person – that’d be me. I am very much a people person but at the same time, I can be all business, professional, and there to get things done. It just depends on what’s required in order for the event to run successfully. But when all is said and done, I like to kick back and throw down. 6. What makes you unique as a DJ? My willingness to go above and beyond my job to make sure the event happens successfully. I genuinely care about whatever event I’m DJing and that the people enjoy themselves. My personal preferences are always set aside for what will work for the guests. I like to think that I have DJed under just about every condition in every circumstance and it is that collective experience that I will use when necessary to ensure a smooth and fun event. 7. Give an example of one of your best moments as a DJ? Well, there have been several moments that stick out in my head. I think one of the best ones was when I was DJing a wedding at a country club for about 200 – 225 guests. When I asked for a volunteer for something fun (without mentioning what it was) the bride's Grandma volunteered. She proceeded to lead the group in a conga line of about 150 people that stretched into every room. When it came back to the dance floor I split the line in two and, in the spirit of tradition, had grandma start a soul train line to a Michael Jackson song. Everyone loved it. 8. What is your #1 goal at your dances? The way I personally measure a successful event is when the people are sweaty, tired, and dying for me to play “just one more song”. That’s how I know I’ve done my job. What is the funniest thing that ever happened at an event? I must first say as a pretense that I do not recommend doing the following – I personally don’t mind but it’s important to recognize that it's not for everybody. This one was the bride’s idea. When it was time for the garter removal we put the bride in the chair, had the groom kneel in front of her and then we blindfolded him. As soon as he was blindfolded, we switched the bride with her grandmother. Never in my entire life have I seen anyone jump up as fast as that groom did. All of his military buddies thought it was a riot. It just demonstrates how I assist in making the reception exactly what the bride and groom want (or maybe just the bride as in the case above). What is your favorite party song? Shout ![]() |

![]() 1. Why do you enjoy performing at wedding receptions? The wedding celebration is a time filled with excitement, joy and love. I like to create a fun and positive environment where the bride and groom can relax and truly celebrate with their family and friends. 2. How do you make sure the hosts are enjoying your performance? I like to start with a one on one sit down meeting before the event, although with everyone’s busy schedules a phone conversation is sometimes the only choice for a bride and groom. This sit down meeting helps to build a relationship and opens up communication. Throughout the event, I regularly check in with the couple to assess the flow of the evening, to make sure they’re having a great time and to see if they feel any adjustments are needed in the timeline previously set. 3. What type of personality do you have? Fun, energetic, enthusiastic, and willing to meet the high standards of my clients. 4. What makes you unique as a DJ? As the DJ I know I am responsible for the entire reception from beginning to end and I take that very seriously. Making sure the night flows smoothly from start to finish is a high priority for me. Although, I do love to play and have fun as well! 5. What is your #1 goal at your dances? To make sure my clients are completely happy and that they really enjoy their reception. ![]() |

![]() How would you describe your DJ personality/style? To me, it's real hard to classify myself as a specific style of DJ. Personally, I'm a pretty laid back guy, but as a DJ, I have worn many hats over the years. If you want me to be out on the floor dancing with your friends and family and really whooping it up, I can do that. If you want me to just blend in with the help, I can do that, as well as anything in between. It's not how I want to be, it's how you want me to be. A few years ago I did a reception and they wanted to do a Dollar Dance. You don't see that much anymore, because who carries cash anymore right? Anyways, before the Dollar Dance started, I went out onto the floor with the Bride and Groom and began an auction with a beginning bid on each of them at $5 and going up by 5's from there. The winner gets first dance with the Bride and another winner gets first dance with the Groom. Once we got started, I felt like an real auctioneer, people were bidding left and right and I was talking faster than I ever thought I could. When all was said and done, bidding stopped at $170 for the Bride and $130 for the Groom. The Bride and Groom were shocked. They had origionally thought neither one of them would fetch any more than $20. That was actually the first time I ever did the Dollar Dance auction. I've done it many times since. I can't guarantee $300 to everyone, but I'm always trying to break my record.
My first ever wedding reception I did many moons ago, I was sooo nervous. I showed up to set up my equipment like 4 hours early (I normally show up about 2 hours early) because I was scared that something would go wrong. I have never been so right in my life. After I set up all my equipment I was pretty proud of myself. I went to pop a CD in to test the sound and I'm like, "Um ... where's my CD's?" After about a split second of thought I realized that I never grabbed them when I picked up my equipment at the company office. There was no one I could call so I had to run back and get them. 45 minutes later I return with my CD's and everythings all good right? Not so much. I still have about 2 hours to showtime so I'm just hanging out, listening to music, and going over the details of the reception with the caterers and the hall manager. 1/2 hour to showtime I realize that I didn't have my microphone plugged in. So I plug it in, turn it on, and start speaking. Nothing. I start freaking out. I switch out batteries, still nothing. So I freak out some more. I ended up sprinting out the door in my full tuxedo in 95 degree heat down to the corner store to buy some batteries. As I'm running back inside I trip on the first step of a 4 step landing and smash my funny bone on the edge of the top step. Yea, that kinda hurt. I say a choice word or two and head back inside. I put in the new battery, still nothing. Guests have started arriving and I'm hearing the Bride and Groom are like 5 minutes away. I didn't know what to do. I glance down at my the microphone receiver and see that the volume was turned way down. I turned it up and the mic worked fine. I was pretty happy about that, not really. Once the reception started, the night turned out great, but leading up to it was quite an ordeal.
My proudest moment would have to be when I finally came out of my shell. You wouldn't know it now, but when I first started DJing, I was terrified of speaking in public or to a group of people I didn't know. Ever since then, I have just plain had more fun in my life because I feel like I can walk up to anyone at any time and talk to them. I couldn't do that before. Why did you become a DJ? I'm going to say the same thing that every other DJ will say. I love music much more than the average bear. The reason I continue to be a DJ is because I love the meeting of new people every week and taking the personal challenge to make them happy on the most important day of their lives.
I enjoy wedding dances more than any other setting because you see the realness in the people there more than other setting. The clubs should go without saying, there are fake people everywhere. At an office party people spend most of the night hoping they don't do something that becomes legend around the water cooler. At wedding's you are surrounded by people you love and who love you so it's easier to just let your hair down and have fun. Ha Cuna Matata
What is your favorite party song? The Cupid Shuffle and the YMCA (because I get to use some of my props)
I have a very strong customer service background that allows me to be very detail oriented with many different departments i.e. wedding planner, caterer, hall manager and staff, phototgrapher, videographer, bartenders, the wedding party, and most importantly, the Bride and Groom. I feel that teamwork and communcation are what make a reception run smooth. For example, it is time for toasts. I first go to the hall manager because they like to know that kind of stuff, then I go to the bartender to make sure they have everyones glass filled. I then find the photographer/videographer and make sure they are close by and not out taking pictures of the butterflies flying around the flowers outside. I then go to the caterer so they will know that the food will need to be out very soon. Then I find the people who are giving toasts to make sure they are ready. Then lastly I find the Bride and Groom to make sure they are ready and in a place they want to receive the toast. There are many things like that that go on at a reception and I love being being the team leader.
I am an adrenaline junkie. I have white water rafted in the 3rd toughest river in the country. I have skydived from over 2 miles up. And I have ridden many of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the country. |

1. Why do you enjoy performing at wedding receptions? I really enjoy seeing someone truly enjoying themselves. Being the entertainment, listening to and playing music is what I love to do and to do it at a Wedding or Anniversary makes it even better! 2. How do you make sure the hosts are enjoying your performance? I usually like to meet with them face to face before the event. Even a phone conversation gives assures everyone that I will perform to their standards. Taking requests and performing dances with the crowd helps set the mood of the party, as well as helping to overcome some shyness that sometimes lingers on the dance floor. Also, I regularly check in with the couple to help keep the flow of the evening in line with their expectations. 3. What type of personality do you have? Fun, amusing, and energetic as well as being very technical. I am always very appreciative when a client has entrusted their celebration to me. 4. What makes you unique as a DJ? I love to have fun and make you laugh and be the life of the party. However, I'm always careful to allow the bride and groom to shine and have the best night of their lives with family and friends. It's very important that a DJ keeps the party alive without taking attention from the bride and groom. 5. What is your #1 goal at your dances? To entice people into being more willing to get on the floor and shake a leg! 6. What got you into being a DJ? I got into music at a very young age. I can play almost any instrument and also run my own production studio during the week. I started a long time ago DJing at a skating rink and just never wanted to give it up! |

1. Why do you enjoy performing at wedding receptions? There is so much a great wedding reception does all at one time. A bride gets the day she has dreamed about her entire life, exactly the way she has dreamed it would go. Parents get to bask in the joy of the next step for their children. Guests are refreshed by the happiness and love that literally bounces off the walls. At the end of all this, people go crazy, let their guards down, and have some priceless fun. I am blessed to be able to make all these things happen for people at one time. 3. How do you make sure the hosts are enjoying your performance? The same way that you mingle with friends at a party. You check in, have a talk for a minute, and look for the smile and laughter, then let them get back to their guests. I try to be a part of the event, not a worker at the event. That said, a good DJ brings his/her service mentality to the event and is always asking, "How can I make this better?" 4. What type of personality do you have? I am outgoing, fun and inviting. I'm easy to talk to, easy to work with, and I am dedicated. My philosophy is if you can't laugh at a job, you shouldn't be there. I don't just go to weddings for the work; if I can make a few new friends with my service, all the better. 5. Why do you enjoy working at Complete Music? It is refreshing to work for a company that demands selfless behavior from its employees. In a lot of other fields you run into people who will quickly tell you what isn't their job. Complete Music is still dedicated to the job being done right, whatever it takes. That's how I feel about a job -- you do it right, whatever it takes. 6. What makes you unique as a DJ? When a bride hires me, she's not just getting a DJ -- she's getting a guy who teaches and coaches basketball 5 days a week. That means I'm organized, I communicate effectively, I prepare like no other, I am overly concerned about being on time, and I always care more about the person than the objective. When I DJ, it's an extension of things I am passionate about doing well. 7. Give an example of one of your best moments as a DJ? I try to build my audience with every song at an event. I watch everything from heads bobbing to toes tapping and body language. My favorite moment was early in my DJ career at a reception. I started playing music to a crowd that was talking at their tables. Little by little I built my audience, until 30 minutes later the entire reception was dancing to "Jump Around." That was so fulfilling. 8. What is your #1 goal at your dances? My #1 goal is to serve the bride and groom to the best of my ability. I'm not just there to play music, I'm there to start off the rest of your life with moments you'll never forget. |
